Emerson Functional Manager - Generator Excitation Solutions in NOIDA, India

Job Summary:

The Functional Manager will lead the Generator Excitation group for implementing strategies and processes which shall include managing global projects within budget, Innovation, meeting the highest quality standards, regular review of projects for smooth execution, monthly meetings with the team, staffing, resource management, performance management, employee development and growth, to support the overall business objectives.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Take the vital steps to achieve worldwide business growth in generator excitation.

  • Resource management, project reviews with lead and project manager on weekly basis.

  • Provide clear and concise business updates to the higher management.

  • Build monthly forecasts and report on actual performance against the planned performance.

  • Effective Co-ordination & communication with PM/lead engineers.

  • Support Kick off meetings & design review meetings of the projects.

  • Ensure the highest level of customer focus and meet or exceed the customer happiness targets by following departmental quality procedures.

  • Ensure the projects completed within established budgetary and schedule requirements.

  • Conduct weekly project review meetings, monthly department meeting and preparation of MOR.

  • Focus on overall team development and growth of individual team members. Be cognizant of their goals and aspirations.

  • Set KRAs and identify proficiencies for the team and develop strong teamwork.

  • Provide/arrange training to the GES engineers.

  • Actively participate in the hiring process and groom lead engineers.

  • Ensure timely submission of time sheets, expense reports and other administrative functions for team.

  • Skill gap analysis and development plan for key skills.

  • Providing leadership, motivation, and strategic direction to the team.

  • Contribute, as a member of the GEC management team, towards GEC meeting its overall performance objectives.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • B.Tech./B.E. with minimum of 10 years of Generator Excitation system design, engineering, and commissioning experience.

  • Deep knowledge of Generator excitation system’s design, engineering, and commissioning

  • Ability to deal with conflicting priorities from internal partners and demonstrate resilience and strong influencing skills to manage these effectively.

  • Confidence and interpersonal/communication skills to work and influence at all levels.

  • Highly adept at partner management and relationship building.

  • Change and performance management experience.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • M Tech (Electrical) Preferred

  • Prior experience in a team leader capacity.

  • Hands on experience of generator protection and synchronization system design, engineering, and commissioning.

  • Proven achievements in the delivering projects as per the agreed schedule, within budget, innovation and meeting the highest quality standards.
